
Bio – Phil Rector
Phil Rector is the conductor of Lexington Choral Society. Prior to coming to Lexington, Phil held church music positions in Kentucky and Virginia and taught public school music in North Carolina. Phil earned a BME from Mars Hill College and a MCM from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has made a life change and now works for Special Events Productions in Lexington. He is married to Melonie who teaches public school music in Lexington and is the assistant conductor of the Lexington Choral Society. Together they have two daughters, Kelsey and Madeline and two dogs, Erv and Max. Phil spends his leisure time riding his motorcycle and playing golf.

Bio – Melonie Rector
Melonie Rector is in her seventh year of teaching choral music at Lexington Middle School. Prior to teaching in Lexington she taught high school and middle school music in Virginia and Kentucky. Choirs under her direction have consistently received distinguished ratings at the local and national levels. She has experience as an adjudicator and clinician in Virginia and Kentucky. Melonie received her BME from Mars Hill College and her MSM from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She received her National Board certification in 2005 and is an active member of the ACDA and MENC.
